alligator snapping turtle
fact fileAlligator snapping turtles grow to 2.1 feet and can weigh up to 175 lbs to 220 lbs. Alligator snapping turtles have no natural predators because of their armour and their bone crushing bite. They are the largest fresh water turtle in America and they spend most of their time in water. Unlike a lot of turtles the alligator snapping turtle hunts fish by luring them with a pink thing that is shaped like a worm and they also have very good camouflage in murky waters. They also have very big heads and large beaks which can open wide enough for a adult human to put their head in and their bite power is 1004 psi which is powerful enough to rip straight through flesh and crush weak bones.
