Fact FileCape buffalos grow to 5.6 feet long to 11.2 feet long and can weigh up to 1300.73 lbs and this makes it one of the largest land mammals. Cape buffalos may not look to dangerous but they are extremely fast and can come charging and knock almost any animal down in its way and they also have rock hard heads and horns that can rip flesh with the horns or break bones by head butting. They are also known to attack almost anything they think is a potential threat and chase it and they are fearless of almost every predator and they even kill lions. They also attack 200 people per year and they do this mostly by ambushing them. Cape buffalo have very thick hide and at some parts of their necks their fur and skin is 2 inches thick
