spiders
Fact FileAll spiders are amazing and are skill full hunters that can make snares. Spiders do this by creating webs which are sticky so they can trap animals in them and there is a lot of different ways of doing this. One way is by sticking long lines of web to the ground that are connected to the spiders nest above and then when an insect gets trapped one of the long web lines it vibrates the spiders nest letting it know an animal is trapped in its web. then the spider climbs down and paralyses the insect while its in the web. Another way is by making a huge thick line of web along a river and then a flying insect fly's over the water into the web and gets stuck. Some spiders just camouflage themselves and wait for large insects to come to the flower then the spider grabs them with its strong legs and jaws. Some spiders stick sand together like a small blanket and dig deep under the sticky sand trap and wait for an unfortunate animal to walk over it and get stuck. some larger spiders wait in dirt holes and and grab animals in. But most spiders just wait for animals to go in their web and spiders can grow from 4 millimeters to 1 foot. they eat small insects, fly's, bees, wasps, small mammals and birds.
