vampire squid
fact file It is called a vampire squid because its tentacles are joined together and make it look like it has a dark cape. They grow o 12 inches in length and they have huge eyes. Vampire squids also have sharp beaks for crushing its prey and they can propel them selves very far and fast. They Manley eat small invertebrates but sometimes that small fish. When vampire squids are threatened they show off the sharp spikes that are around their mouth. Instead of changing colour or squirting ink the vampire squid squirts out sticky glowing mucus and that confuses predators just as well.
