Fact FileGiant otters can grow from 6 to 7 feet long and can weigh 75 lbs this makes them the largest otter on the planet. They rely on team work to catch prey and can swim incredibly fast and use communication to perform complicated plans. They observe their prey and try to stay hidden and then they team up and go under water and aggressively attack the larger animal. They can make incredibly loud noises and they are good at surviving in the harsh conditions of the amazon. But their best weapon is their large thick canines and strong jaws that can crush bones. They also have surprisingly good site under water and can hold their breath for quiet a long time. they usually eat underwater invertebrates, fish, aquatic mammals, toads and large reptiles.
