Fact FileMandrill males grow to almost 3 feet in height and can grow up to 4.2 feet long and they can weigh up to 81 lbs. Females grow to 1.6 feet tall and can grow up to 2 feet in length and they can weigh up to 33 lbs. Like most monkeys they live in troops that can reach up to 60 mandrills and dominant males always lead troops and mate with females and they will violently protect there troops from predators like leopards. Mandrills also have massive sharp canines that can tear through animal hide and they are very strong and can kill antelopes with brute strength. Mandrills live on the ground but they can climb mostly to get away from animals that are threating them. They are omnivores and their diet consists on fruit, buds, shoots, leaves, fish, insects, small animals, smaller monkeys and baby antelope.
