macaques
Fact FileMacaques can grow from 1 foot to 2 foot long and they can grow even larger and they weigh up to 33 lbs. Macaques are known to be very strong and quick and will violently grab things they like the look of out of peoples hands and they have being known to bite people. They live in large troops and their relationships are built up by picking at each others fur and the more popular a macaque is the better chance they have of mating and if they are lucky leading a troop. Macaques are very social and smart and can use steam baths when they are cold. But life in troops is not always safe because of male groups that are looking for a mate and even if the female doesn't want to mate some males will drag them away from their troop and kill there young and mate with them no matter what. They also have a good sense of smell and can recognise their own type of smell from other monkeys. They are omnivores and will eat almost anything and they can crack open hard foods like nuts with their sharp teeth.
