Fact FileJaguars are the largest big cat in north and south America. They are the strongest big cat on the planet and can crack a Tapir's skull with their powerful jaws. Jaguar in Indian means 'he who skills silently'. They can weigh 300 pounds and are excellent swimmers and are masters at camouflaging themselves. Their main diet includes fish, tapirs, boar, deer, turtles, cayman, capybaras, porcupines, large birds and snakes. They can grow to between 5 and 6 foot. Their markings are similar to leopards with a bite force of 2000psi.
