amazon river dolphin
Fact File Amazon river dolphins are one of the most interesting animals because of their pink skin, and unlike most other dolphins they live in rivers instead of the sea. They grow up to 9 feet and can weigh up to 300 lbs. The amazon river dolphin belongs to the cetacean family, and its closet relatives are the porpoise and other toothed whales. Like most dolphins they are very smart and do have extremely clever hunting strategies and they use their long mouths and sharp teeth to catch prey. When they are threatened they can swim at high speeds and head-butt and it can sometimes kill or seriously hurt someone. But they rarely attack people and are considered an endangered species due to hunting and pollution.
